-NEW- Wehle Nature Explorers Summer Camp at the Wehle Nature Center
Get outside with us at the Wehle Nature Center! From field to nature center, campers will explore while learning about Wehle’s biodiversity. Campers will become scientists, learning field techniques and telling stories with their field journal. They will explore swamps, streams, forests, and grasslands for plants and animals and even some fossils! Campers will have a new appreciation for the diversity of the region and the scientists that study it.
2025 DATES:
July 14-16 for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
Wehle Nature Explorers Summer Camp is run by AUMNH staff in conjunction with Wehle Nature Center (camp location) and Bullock Co. Extension Office (drop-off/pick-up location). Registration fees are waived thanks to the Robert G. Wehle Charitable Trust. Space is available for 12 students. Students must apply and will be notified of enrollment by the program director.

Curious Curators at Science Matters
Why do we have natural history museums? Why are they important? How do they grow? From field to museum, campers will explore Auburn’s local biodiversity, make collections, and learn how to curate them. We will explore swamps, streams, forests, and grasslands for plants and animals and even some fossils. Campers will have a new appreciation for the diversity of the region and the scientists that study it.
2025 DATES:
June 2-6 for rising 5th, 6th, and 7th graders
June 9-13 for rising 4th and 5th graders
