Visit the Museum

The Auburn University Museum of Natural History is primarily a research and education museum. Our public display areas are located in the Rouse Life Sciences Building, the Science Center Auditorium Building, in Greene Hall at the Veterinary School, and the Crop Improvement Association Building on South Donahue Drive. These areas are open during working hours Monday through Friday and offer the public a glimpse into our rich and varied holdings. We also provide a variety of other means for the public to visit the museum and view our collections.  More information on how to visit the museum can be found below.

Public Tours – “First Wednesdays”

Members of the public interested in visiting the museum are encouraged to join us on the first Wednesday of each month for a tour of the museum’s collections.  These tours are open to everyone and admission is FREE. Please join us and learn about our holdings, current research and discover Alabama’s great biodiversity.  Tours begin at 5:30 p.m. and last approximately an hour and a half.

If you are planning on attending an upcoming tour, please REGISTER HERE so that we can prepare for your arrival.

Group Tours

Have a group (school group, class, community group, club, etc.) that would like to visit the museum together? We would love to show you around! Group tours are available by appointment and can be tailored to meet your curriculum and/or content needs.  For more information, inquiries or to schedule a group tour, please check out our Education and Outreach page.
